Dental visits are often perceived as painful, intimidating, and frightening for children. The staff at Accolade Dental are equipped to make your child’s dental visit as pleasant as possible. We offer extended visits for children with special needs. Our dentist, oral hygienists and dental therapists are experienced, friendly and will work at your child’s comfort level for their dental check-up. We ensure your child feels comfortable from the moment they enter reception to when they leave.
When should your child visit the dentist?
It is recommended that your child visit the dentist towards the end of their first year or when their teeth have grown in. Visiting the dentist early will prevent greater dental issues from occurring in the future. We endeavor to make your child’s initial visits as fun as possible, so that future dental visits are attended with confidence and full trust in our dental team.
Oral Hygiene for Children
Even though deciduous teeth (or baby teeth) are eventually replaced by permanent teeth, they must still be well-maintained and checked regularly. This will improve habits for healthy foods and good oral care.
Protective Sealants
Fissure seals are a thin protective layer that covers an area prone to tooth decay. Our dental sealant treatments are for children and adults, but the earlier the better.
Fillings
Before early cavities become bigger decays, our dentist or dental therapist will clean out the decay and use a colour matching material to restore your tooth. This will save you time and money in the long run.
Sports Mouthguards
Do you or your kids play sports regularly? Mouthguards can protect your teeth, soft tissue and jaw from contact-related injuries / accident, which may have a long-term impact on your child’s general health and confidence. Our custom mouthguards come in multiple colours.
Special Needs
