Patient-Focused Dental Care in Seaford Heights

From your first appointment onward, we aim to explain each step clearly and take time to answer your questions so you feel informed and supported throughout your care.

First Chat
& Check

Your visit begins with a relaxed consultation. We examine your teeth, bite, and jaw joints, and talk through any symptoms such as grinding, clenching, headaches, or disrupted sleep. We’ll explain what may be causing the issue and whether treatment is recommended.

Your Treatment,
Planned

If grinding or jaw tension is present, we design a treatment plan tailored to your needs. This may include a custom night guard, bite adjustment, or advice on habits and lifestyle factors that may be contributing to the problem.

Patient Focused
Care

Where clinically appropriate, we take a conservative approach. A custom night guard is designed to fit comfortably over your teeth, helping reduce pressure on the jaw and prevent further wear or damage.

Fit, Adjust &
Fine Tune

Your night guard is carefully fitted and adjusted to ensure it feels comfortable and secure. We review how it sits in your mouth and make small refinements so it works effectively while you sleep.

Flexible Payments
& Health Funds

We aim to make protective dental care accessible. Major health funds are accepted, and our team can guide you through your coverage and payment options.

Teeth Grinding and Jaw Pain

Teeth grinding (bruxism) and some sleep-related conditions can be associated with jaw discomfort, headaches and tooth wear. At Accolade Dental, we provide assessment and management options for these concerns based on individual clinical needs.

For patients who experience teeth grinding, management options may include custom-fitted dental splints or night guards designed to help protect the teeth and reduce strain on the jaw muscles, subject to suitability following assessment.

For some patients, dental appliances may form part of the management of certain sleep-related breathing disorders. Oral appliance therapy is a clinically recognised option for selected patients with mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnoea, subject to individual suitability and, where appropriate, medical collaboration.

All treatment recommendations are based on a comprehensive clinical assessment and consideration of each patient’s individual circumstances.

Grinding / Bruxism

For patients who suffer from grinding, we offer customised dental appliances, or nightguards, which can be worn while sleeping to protect your teeth from the damaging effects of grinding. These devices are designed to fit your mouth precisely and comfortably and may help reduce the impact of grinding on your teeth and jaw muscles.

Sleep Disorders

For those who suffer from sleep disorders, we offer a range of sleep dentistry treatments, including oral appliance therapy. This type of therapy involves the use of a specially designed oral device, which is worn while sleeping to help keep your airway open and may help alleviate symptoms of sleep apnoea. Oral appliance therapy is a clinically recognised treatment option for certain types of sleep apnoea and may be suitable as an alternative to traditional CPAP therapy, depending on individual assessment.

Our team is dedicated to providing compassionate and personalised care to all of our patients. We take the time to understand your unique needs and concerns and develop customised treatment plans that address your specific issues.

If you’re experiencing symptoms of grinding or sleep disorders, or are concerned about your dental health, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Our team is here to provide you with the care and support you need to work toward improvement.
